what is your opinion on purchasing a salvaged apex for its motor? it will be put on boost!!!

It'll be fine as long as everything is intact motor wise and the miles were fairly low. Boost shouldn't be a problem for it then and as long as you do the proper steps to insure the new motor will be ready for boost ie head shim,vavles properly adjusted and shimmed ans things like that.
ok thanks yeah I have a head shim I can use and have a shop step everything up and put together.

get a leak down test done, it will give you a good idea of how the motor is.

I agree 100%... And also on a side note guys this is a kid (18yrs old if I remember from one of his pm's) Soo if he asked what you deem a stupid ? It's not... He's just trying to learn as he goes. In 10yrs he'll probly out ride & out wrench us!!! I love the fact he wants to learn it all on his way through this.
