Safe Motel to stay at in Laramie

S
Heading out from western NE tomorrow night and hope to make it over the pass between Cheyenne and Laramie before the weather gets bad. Need to find a motel in Laramie for the night where it is safe to park our pickup and enclosed trailer.
Thank you for the help

they are all safe, but when stay down in Laramie I stay at the Hampton Inn on East Grand Avenue

The Laramie Holiday Inn has been the most supportive to the local snowmobile club and the sport in general.

If you want cheap, call Motel 8 (not super 8) and mention Snowest discount. Very cheap and fairly clean and good mexican joint right next door.

Fav though is what toggy said.

We have also stayed at the Hampton Inn with a pickup and open 4 place. Never had a problem. Pretty nice hotel that was reasonably priced, believe they had hot breakfast too.
We are suppose to head that way tomorrow night, but may have to wait until Friday night after this storm settles down. Should be great riding....

she asked if it was safe

NO, Laramie is not a safe place to stay. It can be hit or miss. We use to stay in Laramie all the time, then crime went thru the roof. The local police and local govt. dont seem to care, that is even the opinion of the locals. I would avoid staying in Laramie at all costs. They will steal sleds, gear, trailers even your vehicle if its not tied down. Until the Laramie Govt. understands the tourist dollar they will not protect the tourist, hell they dont even protect their own. I hate to not support such a lovely place, i love going thru there, some of the restaurants are great, but until the crime is checked i cant afford it.

Been riding there since 95, Never had a problem or known a riding buddy that has. But chit happens that way we have insurance companys and ride with our agent. :face-icon-small-hap

theft

i know that you have been riding up there as long as i have, and you know through Snowest of all the theft that has happened in the last 5 years. Laramie is a great place, but alot of theft has happened in the last 5 years, trucks and trailers, sleds and gear. Hell, Albany isnt safe anymore after a couple years ago. There are bad people out there, that pray on us nicefolk, just trying to warn someone of the wolves in Laramie.

laramie

alot gets blamed on the techies, but there was a a ring going that was stripping and selling stuff, i think it got shut down. i think there are some bad apples in the snowmobile world as well. Like in Albany where they just went thru and stole Boss seats, for me it has just been gas cans. i think it was '07 when they were stealing complete rigs, truck and trailer, or trailer and all sleds, or just all your gear out of truck. times have changed and we have to be careful.

Come on Albany is at the end of a road- if someone is stealing crap- it is a inside job--- dont you think with all the folks camping in the lot and the lodge across the street--someone would have seen something ????????

Yeah the techies get blamed because they are the ones causing the problems---ask---- the Laramie PD or Albany SHeriffs

the Laramie PD told me about the ring, and about some techies. the deal in Albany is weird and i kinda have to agree with ya that it seems like a inside job of sorts.
