RYDE FX SHOCKS

Hi

Need help.I replace my stock shocks with the RYDE FX shocks used. Ski shocks and track shocks. After installing track shocks front and rear I am having trouble getting the 4" sag. Shocks seem fine before installing.I adjusted the springs from soft to firm and no change, adjusted the clicker from soft to firm on the piggy back shock no change.I also adjusted the front shock maybe a couple turns on the spring no change. My sag is around 6 should I keep adjusting the front shock till I get the 4" sag thats needed?

My sled is a 2002 RMK 700 144

shocks came out off a 2002 RMK 800

Sag is primarily controlled by the rear/rear springs. Yeah, the gas shock has a little affect, but not much. So if you want to change the sag then you dial more rear/rear spring in to it.

Are you 100% sure you mounted the rear/rear mounting point in the same location it was in before? Mounting it in a different place in the drop brackets affects the leverage the arm has on the springs and can change the preload/sag.

ADJUSTING SAG

Hi Sled_Guy

Sorry but I am not sure what you mean? Are talking about the two rear coil springs next to the piggy back shock.I have adjusted each spring either soft, med, firm positions but no change is this what you mean for dialling in?Or is it where the end of the spring sets in the bracket on the lower end of the spring.HELP HELP

If you put used shocks in they probably need to be rebuilt. I have the ryde fx shocks on my '02 rmk 800 and the thing always sagged too much i had them revalved and rebuilt and now they are completely different than they used to be

I'm talking about the top of the springs beside the shocks... the ones you say you dialed soft/medium/hard.

$500 for shock rebuild? OUCH. Can't you send them down here to the states to Carl's Cycle in Boise. They are like $50/shock plus parts and they'll revalve them for you if you want them to.

And as I asked in my other post. Are you sure you got the rear upper mount in the same holes it was in before?

Hi Sled_Guy

Yes I did mount in the same holes. Adjusting the spring on the front shock will that help any?Yay not cheap, thats for all the shocks (4).Up here they run around $125.00 per shock.Do you know where I could find a detail forum/video and disassembling/assembling shocks

Thanks

Huck

Front/rear spring tightening won't affect sag.

Don't know of any video on the rebuilding.
