rx1 pros and cons

I'm going to see it wendsday. The guy kinda seems like he doesn't think I can handle the sled.lol. Is there a way to intercool it without making a total mess because of the one carb?
 
I have ridden with Snobeel....alot....and he is hard on bulkeads, a-arms, steering components etc....but that sled just keeps on going. I would take is advice on this one.
 
ya I will check over all that stuff. Thank you guys for the input.I've been looking into the turbo and there is mixed reviews on it. Has anyone rode one? I want to be able to get around 275hp, with engine upgrades. I ride a arctic cat triple around 215hp. I'm super excited and I have found a few others in boise aswell.
 
I believe that is a draw through type system, You don't need to intercool that style of turbo system, the fuel does the job for you to a certain extent.
 
That's one of the imfamous Lightning Pro systems. Ask yourself why you don't see many of them around. I wouldn't count on the fuel to cool the charge any more on that system than any other system. You won't get the thumbs up on this one from me.
 
I don't believe it can cool the air by adding fuel. But I dnt want to put an intercooler on it an mess up the system. I ve found a few others with alpine and mc express. I will go and see which is the best. I don't want to by it and be unhappy.
 
alpine built one of the best rx1 turbo kits it works well & will make as much power as you want to spend. depending on turbo you will want the 2860 turbo on the kit allot come with the 2554 its only good for about 250hp.you can always upgrade the turbo if its a better deal though.there is front mount & rear mount mcx systems the front mount worked well the rear mount is real laggy.biggest thing to look at on the front mounts is the header on the early rx kits they cracked allot.
 
Maybe the fuel does cool some of the intake charge, but doubt it will cool @ 20lbs. There is no room for an intercooler on the lighting pro, it was a neat idea thou. The delta box has a big cut behind the oil tank area for the exhaust to dump out. If you goggle lightingpro turbos, there is some pretty good pics on there site. But hasnt been updated since 06, so likely not in business anymore. I would stick with somebody that is, Alpine, MCX, Powderlites, they have been in the turbo game since 02/03. Least can still get parts from them, to me that means there in it for the long haul. If Impulse built a RX1 kit, it would be another great choice.
 
thank you all for your inputs. I think I'm going to pass on this sled for now.i hope to find an alpine or mc front mount. I've been doing alot of searching and am going to save and wait for a good one.
 
i bought Noobs old RX1 turbo! shes a sweet ride ! I havent rode it yet, but iv been riding my dad stock RX1 for 3 years now on and off! and i like it more then my little weight summit!! Cant wait to ride it tho!! :D id personally go with the RX1 cause theres a lot less to go wrong! ( i mean i love the Nytro but the RX! is a good sled too) IMO

You will have a hard time finding a front mount mcx kit. There were kinda rare, not alot were made, then they switched to rear mount. Cant go wrong with an Alpine kit! Stay away from cpr, I know cause used to have 1.

agreed! there hard to find! theres one on here thats for sale, but i only payed 7040$ for my TRX1 ( REALLY REALLY GOOD DEAL)
and as you can see its not stock!!
