RX-1 Chaincase with reverse.

Swapping out tracks on a RX-1 Mountain with reverse. Is there anything I need to be careful of? I am used to working on two strokes minus reverse. How tight do I need the chain?

You're gonna need 1 or more of the following : 1: Photographic memory , 2: service manual , or 3 Help from someone who's worked on one before . If you're very careful and pay close attention you may ok too. As for the tension:Tighten the chain tension bolt as tight as you can with your fingers and then lock the lock nut down .

Glad I took pictures. When I pulled the cover last night. I about fell over. I guess I am not used to seeing reverse. The chain was really loose too, so I wasn't sure if, with reverse there was need for it to be any different then usual.

i can send you an electronic copy of the manual if you don't have one? i've been thru mine a number of times and they're actually pretty simple once you're use to seeing all the pieces and parts. as you pull things apart set the parts in there sequence. the only real issues i've had are the washer on the end of the middle reverse gears, make sure it doesn't fall out of place. and the splines for the reverse mechanism needs to align in the channel of the gear as you put things back together. good luck

one more thing there's a spacer/washer with a step in it i believe for the lower gear take note of the direction it's facing, i believe the small end goes towards the engine.
