Rutherford & Hurley conditions...

Will be riding up there this Friday/Sat. & wul appreciate some insight.

On Rutherford, have they cleared the road to the big snowpark yet (think it's a few K in)?

On Hurley, is there a snowpark within a short distance of the snowline? Saw a post here showing Summmitseeker unloading @ 18K. Is that a snowpark?

Reason I'm asking is would prefer to take a 4 place trailer versus sled-deck & two place if we can.

Tx in advance for any guidance you can provide.

Leave your four place at home if you are coming to Pemby, the last thing we need around here is a bunch of giant rigs stuck on the roads. We dont have "Snowparks" up here, you drive until you hit snow and park on the side of the road. Most of the time there isnt a turnaround. The rutherford and brandywine are the only places you might find a bit of plowed parking. If you like plowed parking go to Revy. The Hurly was a sh#tshow saturday because a bunch of yahoos brought their giant rigs up and as usual, there wasnt a turnaround.

Thanks for your insight. BTW: The map for Hurley on Totallyawesomeadventures site shows 5 snowparks on the Hurley road so that's why I asked.

I'm talking an open 4 place trailer and ride up there with regularity so not one of the guys that blocks the road like you experienced @ Hurley. Frustrating to be sure.

So did we slow you down?? We came along ways to ride there and are sleds dont travel outside!! We were a 100yrds from the snow and didnt hold up anyone that I noticed:face-icon-small-dis So before you spout off your Big mouth get your facts straight:face-icon-small-sho

I totally agree.

THats crap.. im coming this weekend and bringing deck and trailer.. but only cause its getting late in the year.. usually bring a four place enclosed.. we allways try to park in a way that wont make it difficult for others.. Maybe the locals should ask there local sled shops if everyone with a enclosed should just stay home?? or how about your hotels? or resteraunts??? What a pile!! If i lived in pemberton i too would throw my sled on my deck and head up the hill.. But i dont and i dont want to drive three-four hours to unload dirty sleds.. then on sunday when i dont have a hotel room anymore.. i get in are heated trailer get change and relax for the drive home.. if i could only go to pemberton with a deck i would not go..

Maybe you should discourage a few more tourist from coming and watch the town die slowly??? Give your head a shake!!! I bet thistledoo had a good time.. but he drove past alot of prestine riding areas to get to you!! and then he gets flack for inconviening u a few min???

The other plus to the trailer is on long trips you have somewhere for your gear and clothes.. not under the deck where it can get wet

I wouldn't exactly call it a sh#t show up there. 2 groups who traveled all the way from AB had no choice but to bring there enclosed 3 and 4 place trailers. Agreed they had the road blocked for 20 minutes getting there trailers turned around, but they did and parked to the side. The hurley is there for all to enjoy!

Clearly you are not the yahoo I was refering to unless you are the guy with the white fourplace that almost lost it over the side when turning around for 20 mins. Or maybe the other fourplace that was stuck in the road next to him?

Great time on the cap...

Rode this past Friday & Saturday. Parked at ~3.5K in. Trail groomed on Friday night (rode like a glass ice rink on sat. morning but could not tell it was groomed by 6:00 pm same day). Hat's off to PVSC!!

STRONGLY suggest a GPS as the changing weather had us riding out and/or back in total white out conditions. Would probably still be out there if we didn't have 'em...
