runs good but dies?? mechanical help??

so I bought a 900 and have been riding it for 5 or 6 weekends and this last weekend had to be towed 17 miles home!!

it had always ran fine now all of a sudden it starts idles fine then ill get goin and sometimes itll go 100 yards sometimes not even 2 inches........and when it does stop itll just about throw you over the handlebars like you had hit the kill switch. just a total loss of runability??? 1 pull laters shes fired up idling fine and again will go between 1 inch and 100 yards and do the same thing????

Any help would be greatly appreciated currently trying to get the sob fuel lines off and take off to look for chaffed wires behind the gas tank.

intake boots need replaced but problems just now arising

slp intake..still have radiater......changed plugs.....

after reading some other posts about runability issues I read that hoses inside the tank could be cracked and cause issues when the tank starts getting empty and the last ride it was fine but things started going south as the day wore on and finally couldn't make it home.......sure enough my fuel tank is pretty empty..............

missing our 10inch fresh powder day for a blue bird day in the shop

Check your wiring for any wearing. Disconnect your kill switch to make sure it's not the culprit. The way you described it sounds like something is grounding out on ya. Give it a good look over and see

well I took loose the kill swith and it did the same thing on the mountain.

today I took off the tank and checked for obvious wear or damage under or behind the fuel tank and I seen one wire that's been worn but not visibly damaged. Also found an awesome hillbilly fix that the previous owner must have done. Broken factory clip on what im guessing is something with power due to the size of the wires and clip. So he used a zip tie to hold it together. Well needless to say it was wayyyyyyy loose so hopefully that was the culprit but I guess ill find out on the next trip up.

The wiring on these sleds was routed horrible. It's the first thingsng I check when I have problems and 9 times out of 10 it's something with wiring lol
