Running temps

I run about ~120F on hardpack trail, I have a snow flap on, I run the polaris one so I can actually make use of my rear bumper. I believe rough opening temp for the t-stat seems to be around 95F. so in powder I'm around that or 100F ishh.

Yeah I’m much higher temps than that. The coolant reservoir is down below. I’m going to try to add coolant and get the flap back on and see how it does

anybody know of a better scratcher than stock ?

On my 19 156 Alpha- It get pretty warm running down a groomed trail 35-40 MPH- It's reached temps to 170! - scratchers down and had a Polaris flap on there and buddies saying all my spray was going out the back- Put the stock flap back on and temp went down but still light come on at me around 156*F... Coolant bottle is at the cold level and didn't know if topping it off has cured others issues before I do so..
In the fluff I run 113-120*

The thermostat is 85F. I found mine to be broken after I pulled my engine apart due to crank bearing failure. Rode today after a full rebuild (and new t stat), temps ranged from 100-120 depending on trail conditions, with no snow flap. Maybe those of you running high temps have t stat issues.

check your thermostat, Mine was broken and caused it to run hotter then it broke more and my sled ran 170 down the trail and i was fighting it to keep it cool.

If the T stat was broken would it not be in the open position all the time? and that would cause it to run way cooler than normal?

Let you know what I find.... got to get a replacement gasket first before I go looking at the T stat.. My Cat dealer just got the dealership pulled from him...

I can’t see my 21 thermostat being bad. I mean it has 120 miles on it.
I know I know I’m probably shooting myself in the foot
If the reservoir isn't full, start there. Completely full and stays full as you ride it (may burp out an air bubble). Make sure cap is fully seated. If that doesn't fix it, I'd check the thermostat. It's accessible by removing the primary clutch. I'd troubleshoot based on symptoms, not assumptions about parts being good because they're new-ish. But this sled should be covered under warranty?

My 18 over heats easily. Will the 20-21 thermostat work on a 18 ? The 20-21 thermostat is $50 cheaper so something must have been changed.
