running raves off boost or ex gas w/out solenoids

has anyone done this? on my n/a sleds I run the raves off exhaust gas and it works very well having them fully open before 7900 rpm. I was thinking about running them off boost or ex gas with an adjustable regulator and set it for about 4psi. Im building my 1st turbo sled now and don't know what boost would be going down the trail. can someone fill me in? I go down the trail real slow at 6k rpm and its only a means to an end for me. I recon the raves should be part open at that rpm so I would think I would have to fine tune it with the regulator and possibly different springs once I know what ex gas or boost psi would be down the trail.

Just cruising real easy you will either have no boost or very minimal boost. Like a pound or possibly two. Roll in it and it should near instantly be on the waste gate.
Exhaust pressure is typically 3 to 5 lbs over boost pressure.

Lots of guys have done this, stm billets, convert the stock ones

I havnt done this myself. Talk to bryce at turbo performance, or john at shr, I think they both can get you what you need.
