Running Carls Cycle 860 CFI at sealevel??

Has anyone have this setup running at sea level? I was considering getting this setup but found out I would have to run a mix race gas. I had called Carls and ask them if there setup would run at sea level on pump gas and they said no. I wanted it to run on pump gas only. I trail ride here in Iowa, wisconsin,UP and you can't get race fuel at these small towns. I would of thought all I would have to do is change the cylinder head to lower the compression? Thanks!!

860

They reprogram the computer with a different fuel map. I would guess it would be too lean for sealevel and they probably never have done the R&D for low elevation. If you built one on a carbed 600, you could probably make it work.

Very doubtful that it would work correctly on pump gas. First you have to figure out how the engine makes power, and if it needs a certain compression level and certain domes to make that power.
