Running Board Porting @ Denver Snow Show

This is a great mod and it works better than the inserts being sold. Those inserts look like they should work, but all the surface area they add just gives snow more to stick to, so they kind of defeat the purpose. They work ok, but way over-rated and this method beats hacking up your boards and adding 4 pounds worth of metal too! The die he uses to punch the hole forms a lip that adds strength to the board. The lip faces down to let snow drop cleanly out.

My boards were already hacked up, but i rode a king cat for 2 days in 2 feet of sticky April pow that had Q's work done, and was very impressed with the simplicity and how well it actually worked. I always had a clear board under my foot and wasn't dragging an iceberg like the inserts tend to do. Bring your sled down to the show and give Quinton an hour to fix your stock boards!

I'll throw some support behind this process.

Seen it done to a couple of sleds and the finish is top quality. Looks factory and you get the snow eliminator effect without adding any weight. Hey you even save a few grams in weight!

Tested against Snow Elliminators

+1 for the Qwerx running board porting.

M8 with the Qwerx porting works better than....

The wife's M7 with Snow Eliminators and I here about it almost every weekend from her as she is chipping away on her boards! The only up side to this is if she is cleaning her boards the snow is good:eek:

Q I wish you would have started sooner with this I was a year too late for her sled.

It qwerx people!
