RT 1000 (!) light always on

'05 RT 1000 always has the (!) light on. The lets you know the sled is running rich, which is pretty obvious because it streaks the snow everywhere!

Have been trying to run this problem down forever and can't seem to get it taken care of.
The sled is mostly a stock engine with a can, and timbersled POD filters. Has plenty of venting and the low pressure fuel pump updated. New plugs all the time always coming out dark black. I want to reduce the oil pump some but I'm not sure how to do it on this EFI sled.

Is there a way the oil injection can be turned down some? I'll pull and clean the RAVE valves this week and double check the plugs firing sequence. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. Our group leaves next Wednesday for Cook City and we want this sled to be running good.

Well, not sure if you nailed it yet or not. That light is oil level and when brake light. Most often when that light is stuck on its a wet connection under the seat or a faulty switch in the master cylinder.

As for running rich... there is no sensor for the summit to tell you it's running rich so how could it light a light to tell you it's rich. Follow me?

Now you mentioned the timber sled, vents and the low pressure pump... but I did not see aything about getting the 07 mapping and installing a thermostat. Both are huge improvments to the 05 setup. Deep snow streaking most often is do to over cooling, you need to remove the rear most cooler and install the thermostat. When you hit the gas in deep snow it basts the engine with cold coolant and the sled drops into warmup mode. It's like fliping your choke on when you nail it.

Cleaning the raves often is a most, it takes about an hour just be sure you have a base gasket for the rave assembly. I only use the new one if the old one tears.

The oil pump is easy to adjust and is adjusted in the cable, right above the throttle bodies is a cable adjuster in the cable going to the oil pump. There is a factory spec, I think it's 16.5 mm plus the free play at the throttle block. Skidoo changed it a few times over the life of the RT but settled on 16.5 + free play on all the summit 1000's. Mine is set at 20mm total and it's a little over oily but not bad. There is a good write up on doo talk about it I can get you a link if you need it.

Mine still streaks from time to time but mostly when I roll to the base of something and go from no throttle to pined. It runs awsome and I just quite caring and ride it.
