RPM issues

Questions, questions...always with the questions...

4ft of fresh West Coast snow...no ventining (yet)...disintegrated a belt (havent done that in YEARS)...I put in a barnd new one, however, I cannot get RPM's back. I was getting 8150+, now can't get her over 7950...

any advice fellas?

Sounds like the Primary is acting up..

I suggest pulling it out... cleaning it up and checking for free motion, broken sprins and cracks as outlined in other posts.

Also check out the secondary.

BOOST... Tick Toc....You'll have different clutching then... Just let Curt know that you are having clutch issues and He'll set it all up and check it out.

I've noticed the clutching runs pretty hot when pushing them in deep snow..make sure your belt deflection is good also...it really affects performance...am working on a setup..what I rode this weekend was way snappier, ran hard but didnt like how hot the secondary got when pushed hard on back to back climbs..so will try a new sec spring next trip and see if it helps...

Belt Deflection.

I would expect that at your first service they adjusted your deflection to your broken in belt and now that you've put a new belt on you will need to re-adjust for your new belt.

x3, Your Belt deflection will effect your rpms big time. Should be 1 1/4" deflection. In the manual, it states you must adjust deflection whenever you change your belt out.
