Cristiane Justino Venancio known better as "Cyborg" looked like a machine when we watched her go through Gina Carano like creamed corn through a baby a few years ago.

Dana White needs to move her to the front of the line, otherwise the 135# womens class is basically on hold for a year.
That's too long for ..............
1 - the fans, particularly when the womens division finally has some interest
2 - the fighters when you consider how short these fighters careers can be

With little else to hold our interest in the UFC, I hope this inevitable bout gets fast tracked.

The good Lord hath not prepared her for the azz whipping she was about to received~

Didn't get to watch it.
But read twitter chatter about an early stoppage. Your thoughts?

Both were throwing heavy leather and some nice elbows in the beginning. Rousey pressed her against the fence and was beginning to really impose on her. Hard right and then a knee to the body had Sarah down and hurt on her knees.

I think the stoppage looked quick since most people are so used to head shot knockdowns. This was a liver / body shot, those stop you in your tracks and you cant do ANYTHING. Would have loved to see it go longer as well, but given that it was a body shot that took her down, it isn't nearly as bad as people are making it out to be. Have seen FAR FAR FAR worse stoppages.

Thanks for the response.

I've always been a Rhonda fan, but I've followed Sara McMann since about 2000, or whenever she came onto the national wrestling scene.
After the Olympics in 04, she was the driver in a car crash that killed her boyfriend. (i think there was a DUI in there somewhere. It was a pretty bad deal, and she was the darling of USAWrestling at the time, so everyone's heart had gone out to her.

This is the first fight I've preferred Rhonda didn't win.

Was also really impressed with Cormier at 205. Didn't look like the cut was hard on him and his hands are still heavy. Not sure if they give him another test at 205 before giving him a shot at the Jones / Glover winner. Would rather see him get the winner, then they still have Gustoffson (given he wins) up after that. Or if Jones loses either, they can have a Gustoffson rematch that will sell well.

Props to the UFC brass for getting Cormier to drop to 205, Jones has almost cleaned it out. Same goes with them getting Lyoto Machida to go to 185, he looks like a monster there and will make a great opponent for the Weidman / Belfort winner.

Been a Cormier fan for a while too. I'm pulling for that dude.
The 2008 USA Olympic wrestlers who have gone onto MMA are still undefeated in MMA. Crazy!!!

Cyborg is under contract to Invicta FC and is their 145 lb. champion. Even if the UFC could get her under contract, I highly doubt she could make 135. I also doubt that Dana is very high on the possibility of Ronda getting her face rearranged by Cyborg.

"Yeah, there are still a lot of things to hammer out. Cyborg, the Invicta FC 145-pound champion, has never fought at 135 pounds, though she said Friday on Inside MMA she's getting a doctor to help her with the cut. She plans to fight for the Invicta 135-pound title in the summer and then challenge Rousey in December."

Sorry if that was in the link. That link kept crashing my browser for some reason. If Cyborg/Rousey goes down in december or at all for that matter, I'll take Cyborg. Rousey has never faced a physical specimen like Cyborg. Gina Carano has far more advanced striking and is overall a bigger girl than Rousey and she didn't make it out of the first round after Cyborg walked right through everything she had.

I'm not sure Carano was as skilled as Rhonda. Not even CLOSE!!
Back then, most girls were about as skilled as a 17 year old boy.

And I'm not really exaggerating there.

I'm surmising this because 15 years ago the WORLD LEVEL female wrestlers were known to be about equal to that of the Schoolboy division in USAWrestling. That's your 12-14 year olds.

I'm getting burnt on the ufc...I remember the good ol days when they had a GOOD fight card about once a month; now they have mediocre cards 2x a month.

Another example of mediocre cards...Was it a year ago fall that a ufc event was called off? It was a Jones fight. Dana is all pissed off at the fighters; yet the flip side is if it was a stacked card liked they used to be, it would have never been cancelled. So Dana had himself to blame too on that one.

Comier...someone said they were impressed with his fight this last weekend. Now I didn't watch the fights, but really? Comier fought a guy that was his first fight in the UFC; Comier should have walked right through him like he did. He needs a few more fights at 205 (imo) before he gets a shot at the title.

MMA junkie has worthless updates every since UFC started that new streaming feed.

Sherdog has pretty good updates...rousey trained for those liver strikes, pretty impressive even though I'm not really a rousey fan.

oh & cyborg has to pass a drug test befor getting a fight in the ufc dana said so she mite not be as big & powerful as she was with her fight with gina.:face-icon-small-sho:face-icon-small-hap

I know that Ronda is a far more talented grappler than Carano being that she was an olympic judoka. However in a pure kickboxing battle, I think that Carano would knock Rousey into next week.

What would be an interesting fantasy match-up to see (fantasy...as in that will never happen because Gina Carano is now....uh...what IS she doing?)
