rode the Ears 2-10

sunny skies and deep powder, like 3 ft plus of new on a good base....thigh deep to walk in....by the end of the day anything within 1/2 mile of the lot was ridden out but farther out it was untracked

we couldn't go into the trees, just too deep for my 153, had a hard enough time taking uphill grades in the meadows, but by the time we were out of gas at the end of the day, the snow was beginning to settle up, many of the back meadows would just swallow you up in chest deep snow and I was about full throttle much of the time, but it was great powder cruising in the open stuff where you could easily keep up some momentum....I was standing when I took this pic with camera at eye level...

The "blue bomber" or "blue tractor" did excellent!!! :D Throw a L/W suspension under her and she'll be prefect although she's doing quite well now, I must say... Seems it does better the lower RPM you're at, I notice just letting off the throttle and she'll lift right out of the trench and keep on truckin',(or tractoring as Jim calls it) that torque is so awsome, just never seems to lose it.... :beer;
The Nytro and M7 was pretty even all day long, same RPM's, same track, same stucks!!! I can't wait till she gets broken in, I have kept it between 1/2 and 3/4 throttle since I got her.... Attached pic shows our first "Even Steven" stuck of the day.....

2-10-08 Rabbit Ears- Great Day gone HORRIBLY wrong!!

Those are great pics! it was definetely DEEP! We rode the north side of the highway for about a 2 hours when My M1000 Grenaded the Motor!!! we were at the maintnece shed hill trying to climb (which as you said was nearly impossible!!) when the our day got really bad!! took 3 hours to get my sled 300 yards to the shed road so we could pick it up with the truck!! Stuck 7 times while packing the trail in front of the sled over and over! but we all made it out and it could have been MUCH worse!!!

Glad you guys had a Great Day the snow was AWESOME!!!

I have been reading your posts for awhile and if you guys ever need riding buddies let me know. I would love to ride with you guys we have been riding R.E. for 20+ years it would be nice to ride with guys that know the area.

Of course now i'm down for a couple of weeks while Eric at VOHK gets me hooked up.........I see a big bore kit in my future.......:D

Ride it like you stole it is best for break in. Just don't WOT for long pulls.

Ahhh yes, how does one "break in" a motor???? I would say it's pretty hard to prove either way is right or wrong... I'll take it easy for another ride or two and then I'll happily let her BREATH...... :D

On another note anyone have a Viper crank shaft laying around???

Paul you riding Friday?

Yea, I hope to ride Friday, Greg. You guy's coming up?

When you riding next Mark? I need to hook up and get some belts.

I'm waitin on a clutch from ebay and hope to have it together wed.night.....now as far as the comparison of the Nytro and the M....I'll stick with the M and keep an extra clutch in the van....they were running pretty close with my primary shot and most of the time I was pulling about 6800 rpm rather than 7900, there's a big difference in runnin that low compared to where it should be....nytro is a really nice, smooth sled but the real test lies ahead when we start climbing up the east side thru the trees, .....Talk to Ike up at Muddy creek this morning....snowin and blowin incredibly hard...hope to be out friday/sat

Headin' out on Fri.

Heading out to Walden on Friday, gonna be riding out of Grizzly with Rotax (DJ) on Sat., Sun., And Mon. Sounds like things should be pretty good, eh? How hard do these areas get ridden during the week? Maybe see some of you guys around.

Now, now you keep changing the numbers, you told me 7200 rpm?? That's about where I was running all day... I think you're a closet Nytro lover... ;)
I think we need to start a "Nytro Lover Anonymous" club for all you guys... You better get something soon, those 7,000+ miles on that motor is going catch up, :clock: hope we are not down in some knarly drainage when it does.....
The Nytro is no heavier than my tank Viper was, no worries I'll have a L/W skid one of these days.... ;)

Yea, and your only running at half throttle, Greg. lol

Jim, I think DJ is avoiding the whole cursed group of us.lol No PM return for me either:confused:

Rode buffalo pass on sunday. Got up late and had to wait for a little bit to have someone leave because the parking lot was full. Rangers were there doing some enforcing and weren't allowing any hillbilly parking. Lots and Lots of snow. Due to saturdays sunny warm afternoon the snow was heavier than normal and not as powdery. Still waste deep and nothing to complain about. Supposed to get more snow tomorrow:)
