Rod Bearing Kits ??? 02 800 Edge need info

I just lost a Mag Side Rod bearing in my 02 edge 800. Does anyone know anything about Hot Rods Kit ($100) vs. Stock Polaris Kit $220 also I have heard that a mag side rod bearing is odd to lose. I have had the big bearing kit and crank mod done thinking that this motor was safe to run hard. I guess
I just have bad luck!! Any info on Rod bearing kit would be great!!!

The Hot Rods are good rods.

It is strange to lose the mag side... check your oiling for that side and make sure you are getting it oiled good.

Just found out that Hot Rods are no longer being made for 800 twins so I have to go with Polaris or SPI anyone know anything about SPI rod kits also how do you check the oiling for a side?

I have hotrod connecting rods in my motor just looked on their site says they will be available 1/20/2010 definately a GOOD rod might wait if you can help it

highmarkedu, thanks for input I called Hot Rods and they said they no longer have that rod kit available. So it looks like I will have to go with SPI or Stock
still trying to figure out why it went- the pistons showed great wash a little on the lean side but nothing to crazy-I had a little bit of cold seizure but over all things looked pretty good-so now I'm trying to figure out if it is a oiling issue-also wondering what kinda debris are now in my crank bearing they turn feel and smooth but it would not take much at 8000 rpms to cause a huge mess- wondering if I should have all the bearing changed out on the mag side?

Adobe-al maybe try crankworks.com they use hot rods in there setups thats what i run maybe they can help you (phone number on webpage) or i seen on their site they make there own rods dont know if they do it for 800s or not. Another option pm or call INDY DAN(on forum) and see what he recommends he builds awesome bottom ends also, im sure he would point you in the right direction hope this helps
