Some ride from the cabins, some trailer. It's 4 miles by trail back to Alpine if you choose the Wyoming side or 1/2 mile to the Idaho trailhead. If you don't like trails, head straight west from the cabins.
Although Alpine's elevation is just under 5800 feet, the valley consistenly gets more snow than any of the valleys in the area including Jackson which is 6200 feet. Most years you can count on 3-6 feet "on the stick" on the valley floor. It typically melts in the Valley between April 1st and 15th, although last spring we could ride the Valley past April 20th. Most of our riding is between 7000-10,000. The highest peaks are around 10,200-10,500. Although we have all types of riding, the big bowls and Basins are this areas highlights.

These are a few pictures taken from the top of Virginia Peak in the Salt River Range. The top of the Salt River range is contiuous bowls from Alpine to Afton, although it is not always easy to get to them.

I have my own sled and I have a cabin on the road by the airstrip. Is there a way I cold hire a guide only?? For a day? Possible to post more pictures of the riding up greys canyon please

Yes we do offer a guide only service for $350 per day. Thats $200 for the guide and $150 for his sled rental and gas. Most people like a larger group to share the expense.
