RMK 900 Over Fueling

Hey all, I am new to the board and have a question/problem maybe someone can answer or have experienced.

got a 06 RMK 900 fuel injected sled. Have put a few miles thousand miles and a top end in it. About 200 miles after the new top end the mag side cylinder started running really rich. You could actually smell the gas. I took the airbox and pipe off and started it and at idle and revved up a little you can see raw fuel build up on the frame rail, so it is way over fueling.

Checked the spark wires and coils and they all check out good. I think I have it down to a stuck open fuel injector(s) but just wanted to see if any one has experienced this with maybe a simple fix, getting to the injectors looks like a all day job.

I would really appreciate any input.

Thanks to all

your best bet is to get the injectors flow tested by www.witchhunter.com fairly cheap and fast turn around ($19 per injector)

i am not 100% sure if you can do this on the 06, but disconnect the wiring, drain coolant, rear coolant line, pull rear motor mount bolts/fuel tank and lower front crossmember bolts...

and see if you can rotate the engine fwd and get to the injector rail from the back side...i know you can do this on the 05, but not sure on 06..worth a shot.

I would try unplugging the injectors on that side, if it stops spewing fuel then you'll know if it is "stuck open" or being told to open.

Thanks all for the input. Just thought I would let you know I got the injectors out and the top injector (4 injector system) on the mag side was literally cracked at the base of the internal nozzel and was leaking fuel badly.

don't know if this is a common problem or a fluke. The good part is is that it is the yellow expensive injector

Thanks

good find..

you DO NOT have to buy a new injector from polaris, there are a TON on ebay...you can get a set of 4 for $100 on there...just get the right color is all..

search under rmk 900, polaris 900, polaris iq...you will see lots.

good luck
