why does he need a whole new crank? take it to carls and have them true it up/inspect it. thats what we did with the 800 rmk cranks and they were a time bomb too.
Just take the entire lower end of the engine to Indy Specialties, have Dan (IndyDan here on SnoWest) do his crank kit and case modifications. Then you'll never need to worry about the crank again. (unless you run race oil and rust the crank because of it)
Wow is right. I have seen belts explode and blow the hood up. I can only imagine what is was like when that happened. Can I ask how fast you were going when this happened?
