rmk 600 ho 2008 suspension sag

hi,

i am not satisfied:( i have been riding all day and the sled performed great rmk 600 2008 h0 870miles.

i went out to check the sled before going to bed and it omg the sled is totally flat on the suspension....i way about 200lbs fully geared up....
the sled is not jumped on, i park it with suspension off the ground.

i think this is bad on a only two year old sled with so low milage.

it is sitting with half tankt and with no rider on it, the sag is now 12-15" maybe more......what can i do about this? is this a issue on the rmk 600 155"?

too much sag

Most 600s come with spring shocks' does your have Walker Evans air shocks? I think some spring specials were upgraded. Other wise you would have broken springs??????

Really curious about this one....can you post pics....one lifted up to max and one settled down....both from the side at eye level....would like to try to help diag this....

Pull out the stock suspension and put in a Timbersled Mountain Tamer. You will actually have sag. Push on the rear bumper and it will rebound back up. Keeps you from trenching as well. I did this on my D8 earlier this year. Rode it through some serious moguls at the end of the season, barely felt them. Rode the same moguls with my wifes 08 600 RMK....wow, major difference. Now she wants a new suspension. Just MHO.

Stiana84,
Is your sled sitting on a dolly? If it is and the dolly is positioned in certain spots you will get this. Get the track fully on the floor and see how it looks. Secondly and more important, the W/E shocks do not hold up the suspension, the springs do. These sleds are notorious for sag due to factory springs being too light and are set for a 170lb rider. Search for the upgrade torsion spring threads, there are many. The answer for you are OEM part numbers 7042079-067 and 7042080-067. These will fix your sag and you will be able to run on the softest setting on these torsion springs and have plenty in the bank for future sag. They are one heavier than your stock spring rate but also have a different initial angle which give you more preload in the installed position which fixes the sag but doesn't make it overly stiff.

Im having the same issue and wondering if these parts will fit my 2008 RMK 144" (7042079-067 and 7042080-067) thanks?

Yes they will. I'm a 250lb guy and I run these at the soft and medium preload adjuster setting. Here are more details on the springs.

I too have rear sag on my 2010 600 rmk 144. I was looking at old IQ posts and there is one referencing Fastrax, FTXMotorsports rear torsion springs and rear scissors relocate. What are the results of doing this?

The 5/8" relocate works wonders in removing a lot of the rear sag. Remember, some sag is good as it allows the suspension to move smoothly. All you do is relocate the rear scissor back 5/8" from stock.

You can see the relocation and factory position right behind the rear idler wheel in this photo.

Make sure it is not on the wheels or dollies. I find mine sags when it sits in weird positions like on wheels. Its always fine when I get it on the snow.

Check to make sure no torsion springs or spring retainers are broke. If those are fine and it still does it on snow could be your rear shock.

Im 160 lbs and mines sagged like that! was wondering if theres a spring tensioner to add on

You can adjust the preload by changing the three position adjuster on the rear suspension, is that what you are looking for?

put the 375/47 springs on and do the 5/8 relocation , never have a problem again, one of the best things I've done to mine and not that costly

The Polaris springs are around $80 each if I remember correctly.
