RMK 136 to 156 Summer upgreade??

After 200% snowpack this winter I need MORE TRACK! (good problem to have) :face-icon-small-ton

Anyway, I have a 2000 RMK 700 136", and I ran across a guy parting out an 02 Vertical Escape 156. He is asking $400 for the track and suspension which I think is a pretty good deal.

My question is....can I get this to work?? All the tunnel extensions I find exclude 136 to 156. I think It may have something to do with the cooling on the rear...but there's got to be a way around it?? I'm not scared :face-icon-small-con

Any help, do's/dont's are much appreciated.

You can purchase a Gen II extension from SLP I believe. You will insert it between the existing tunnel and the cooler. The cooler is riveted to the cooler so it's just a matter of adding a section. You will need longer hoses from the runnung board cooler to the rear. That's just plain old 5/8 heater hose. You may be able to find a set of covers off a 151 that will fit over those hoses after you get the extension on or just run without them. (weight savings) :face-icon-small-ton
SLP part number 32-397 $119.00
Slide rail will bolt right in

You will have to redrill and mount the rear rack on the new extension

One more thing, reason that you can't find 136-156 extensions is no one wants to run 10 inches of rail without hyfax on it. Sounds like you are getting a really good deal. Only other option would be to find 151 or 156 rails and a track but you will pay more than that for rails and a track if you can find them.

the edge and the extra lite skids are a little different make sure you mount the rear arm 29.5 inches from the front torque arm hole .

Thanks guys. 10" of track without a Hyfax?? I'm getting the whole rear suspension from the 02....so it will be running 02 stock hyfax and track. Or am I missing something?

Not new to mods...but new to mods on sleds :face-icon-small-coo

Just buy a close off from Polaris for the 2001 800RMK 151. Then remove your short one and put the new one in. 151 closeoff works great, I have a couple of buddies running 156 tracks on their 00/01 RMKs with that closeoff. The reason no one makes one in the aftermarket is that you can just buy the stock piece.

Then make sure you get your suspension mounting correct with the new skid... pull measurements off the '02 so you know how far from the drive shaft and what the center to center on the mounts should be. Then you are good to go.

They are refering to the OEM part number 5245059 as the close off. $89.00 from a dealer or see if someone has a used one.

Above I was talking about slide rail extension from 136 to 156 as being 10 inch. You won't need them due to the fact that you are getting a complete suspension. All you will need is the tunnel extension or close off. As mentioned SLP makes the tunnel extension or get the OEM one.
