RM80 conversion kit?

I rode with a buddy who was riding his snow bike and decided I wanted to get into it, I have an old 92 RM80 an easy wondering if there is a kit that would be good for all purpose riding, thanks.

Your not going to find a factory fit kit for a bike that old or small. However…any decent machine shop can make up some spacers. Good luck!

I assume it's for a kid? And what is your idea of all purpose riding? The 80 might be ok for a kid in hard snow in flat terrain. The timbersled ripper was made for those smaller bikes but it won't be a mountain machine. If it's for a teenager in the mountains don't bother with the 80 just try to find a deal on a rmz with an old ts. They are dirt cheap and work good.

Yeah it's for my son by all purpose I meant mainly trail riding but maybe jumping off the trail and doing some climbing or powder riding, I found a pretty good deal on a 250 so I think I'll get that and get the kit for iy

For sure bigger bike the small one will be a tuning nightmare in the snow. Any 250 will work fine … kids have an easier time in powder and in trees than on the road. They pick it up super fast.

If you get a Timbersled kit, old or not so old, don't be afraid to have the shocks rebuilt to a shorter length and then do some cutting on the spindle to make it a "S" kit. For the vertically challenged, it does a lot for the self esteem if you can get the darn thing out of the parking lot without falling over. Just a thought.

I think I will do that because my son isnt very tall and I remember how embarrassed I was when I was kid an couldn't touch the ground on a 250, thanks

Honestly I would say 70 percent of people can’t touch… that being said if there is a foot or more of powder it does not matter if you can touch… kids learn fast than anyone to just sit and balance which is way easier than wheels. But the s will have a lower center of gravity.
