rkt head

anybody running this with anyother aftermarket brand piston than his drop in kit and if so wich domes are you running this is on a 02 summit 800.considering spi or weisco pistons.

why would you not use his drop in kit? this would ensure that your squish and compression are correct. besides I'd use a cast piston long before a wiseco

called and emailed wasnt to helpfull. and 610 bucks for a set of pistons and new domes to use his piston.are his pistons realy that much better than the rest.

$610 for a set of pistons!!!!!!! That guy is ridiculous!!!!!!

it is 610 for the pistons and new domes he says i need for his head that i already have.rkt says there are different domes for stock pistons and his pistons.and thats what im wondering if i use another piston brand will the domes for the stock piston set up going to work.

Depends on if you have a "drop in kit" head, or a stock replacemnet billet head???? one you need stock pistons the other "drop in" pistons

If its just a head with 13:1, 14:1 or whatever domes you can run it with stock pistons. just be carefull on the compression to low of altitude and you may need more than 91oct.

If its a "drop in kit" head then you need to use the drop in kit pistons or you will probably blow it up.

My drop in kit head with 13:1 domes was cut to fit into the cylinder a little ways, more than just a high comp head. SO you need to figure out what head you have then figure out what pistons you need to run.

If you have domes for stock pistons than any other brand will work. The drop in pistons have there own domes. Not worth it IMO. Pistons are not readily available.

Anybody know a secret for getting an RK Tech head to stop leaking? I ran one on a polaris and had no problems.

The one I have now is on a 2007 800R and the bolts leak on EVERY ride. I have even put copper washers under them with marginal results.

Quick update: Had a RKTEK drop in kit engine go on us yesterday. They just put it in last spring and had less than 500 miles on it. Still awaiting the teardown but she's got a dead hole.
