I have a clutching question Im running a 07 M1000 with rkt head and speedwerx pipe bdx air box 162 track Im having problems with the sec getting hot and losing rpm my clutching is
primary ti spring with 83g stock weights
sec rkt sec 40/36 with the green snopro spring
3-6k
and my sec is getting really hot when I run in powder for a while and my mag side motor mount is starting to tear not sure if that has something to do with it Im going to replace it but it seems like its getting hot then almost bogging any suggestions?thanks in advance:)

Hey i have the RKT secondary kit on my 07 M8 and my secondary was getting hot to awhile back. I just adjusted by belt deflection :confused:not sure if that was the reason but it is not getting hot after i adjusted it.:D

Im running a 3 post the 4 post came apart I installed a new belt and the belt deflection was set.It has me stumped I dont know if I need to drop weight or just buy a 38 helix.I marked the clutches with a sharpie so tomorrow I look at it and see if the clutches are shifting all the way out

thanks

I was kinda thinking that I have not seen it with full load on it I ordered a new mount from OTS along with some lighter weights I put the motor mount in and ride it and see what happens.I was just wondering what people are running for clutching on the 1000 with a 3 tower from 3-6k

harf - the sharpie won't show you much besides seeing if you did a top speed run. That's the ONLY time your clutches shift all the way out. You can use the pen trick to show what your alignment is at a certian speed only. if you go faster than that speed, then the pen will wipe off going up to the new speed.

as for your issue - a few ideass - a bad motor mount needs to be fixed STAT. Probably a good bit of your problem. also - the 40 start might be a bit much. i'd try Kelsey's inner spring before a new helix though. give him a ring and ask him about it. are rpms seeking, or rock solid?

there toppi ng out at 7600 then dropping back to 7100 but when its cold or on hard pack it will pull 7600?

id try a little flater helix and a red white spring the green snow pro is good for keeping r's but creats a lot of heat (the back shift is being controled by spring tention and not track input) or try the lighter weights with the red white spring.

the titanium spring could cause a problem if your secondary spring is weak. Your secondary might be trying to shift up to fast causing it to stretch the belt creating heat. On the hard pack it is putting a little extra load on keeping it from upshifting so fast. I would try a new secondary spring or a stiffer one before anything. or maybe through an old primary spring in it.

Ive got a red/white sec spring on the shelf I suppose its worth a shot.Ill ask kelsey about his spring thanks for the info.Ill let you know what I come up with

Let us know on the red/white spring
I have the same question.

I run the 38/34 rktec with the sno pro green.
I seems to make heat on long pulls.
