thinking of the Rk tek head and the dual ring pistons on a 800 power tech non R engine,
Or
just the dual ring piston and the cheater head and or stock head.

Looking for real people, real world comparisions in,

reliability

Thanks in advance:D

Are you thinking about the drop in kit? That is what I run and I can't say enough good about the kit. Once I got it dialed in I loved it. I am on my third season with the kit, same pistons. It runs better now than ever. I was a little worried about spinning the engine at 8400 but you can tell that is exactly where the power is and my sled has held together just fine. I am getting about the same milage as other 800's maybe even a little better. On my last trip we had good snow, I held it to the bar alot and did lots of climbing with the thing singing right along at 8500 and I would actually put in less gas than the M8's in our group.

Whose dual ring piston are u using, and where did u get them.

I am using the dual ring pistons that come with the RKT Drop in Kit. The kit consists of a set of custom dual ring pistons, RKT head with interchangeable domes special for the drop in kit, computer reprogram, RKT base gasket and jetting and clutching instructions. Basically the crown height of these pistons is different from stock and that is the reason for the custom head and domes. The piston height also effects the port timing, thus the reason the power curve is now at 8400. For less than a $1000 I think it is a very reasonable mod to do considering you will have a engine with close to 160hp and it will last without all the problems of the stock pistons.

BCP yes i was thinking about the drop in kit or avariation of it

I would like to increase my longevity but not at the expense of the MPG or power
