Hey there guys, just curious if anyone is running the 827 kit by RK Tek in their Summit 800? Reliable? Would it be worth it? How about the billet head for it? Application is a 2004 800 Summit. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

i have the bb kit with billet head. thing is crazy powerful. it's pretty reliable too. i got dynamo joe clutch kit on it cause the RKTEK guy leaves the cluthing up to you. My sled also is a 2004 summit 800. I think it's worth it to keep up with the latest greatest sled these days.

I have the 827 in an '06 summit X. Runs great and have had no problems with reliability.

Redneck I was thinking of getting the DJ clutch kit. Is it worth the $. What pin weight did you end up at and what peak RPM are you running?

I have an 827 on my 01 zx and that kits makes tons for power! My zx will run with the new sled all day and no reliablity issues! If i bought a ski-doo again it would have a RKT big bore for sure!

6000'+ you?
What jetting & clip position do you run?

Just installed an RKT 827 in my 05 Rev.....Going up sunday to do some jetting and clutching. Running a non-dpm setup but I ran 270's with clip one notch lean from center. RKT recommends needle clip in middle. Think I'll end up around 310-330's at 8-10000 ft unless it gets really cold. Kelsey says clutching is simple....purple purple which is a 160/320 and set the clickers on 2 then add/remove pin weight until around 8500 rpm. Stock ramps in primary and stock helix in secondary. Say's they have had good results with this as an all around mtn setup.

Guess I should mention too that I am running an SLP pipe and can on this kit. Only pipe on the HO said to work with porting...Don't think there is much to gain with this but I needed a new pipe and this was the only one they have had any increase with. Had Tom at BRP re-map my ignition too with the RKT curve.

Holy crap that seems way lean. I have the HO with DPM so that must be the diference.

First hour or so on 340's it was so fat it would hardly run.....after some tinkering I quit at 320's with the needle at center clip. Still extremely rich. I have no idea where I'll end up. On clicker 2 sled hit 8000. Won't have the luxury of clutching the good 'ol TRA until jetting gets better. When this thing hits 8600 I'll tell you how that SLP pipe sounds Redneck Rev....Should be interesting!!

Riley i was up there last weekend when you were there and i was just wondering if you ever tried running your stock pipe and can as RKT recommends? We will be up there again this weekend if your interested on meeting us up there!

have been runnin the RKT kit for 3 years now...no problems so far (knock on wood) just some blown up recoils :) sled is also an 04 with a 159...team secondary..stock ceramic coated pipe..HPS can....love it
keeps up with all the "big" sleds iv ridden with ...excluding turbos ofcourse :)
