RK Tech Drop in Piston Kit compared to PMS Polaris Fix Kit

Where is the rev limiter set? you have to be getting pretty close to it... lol

Kelsey, This is more in line of what I'm talking about. If you hit the rev limiter it will throw the det code, which on my sled it seems to be around 8500 rpm. Sorry I missed a few key words there. Thanks

How is it you are changing port timing?

Is this kit just pistons? Head as well? Base gasket?

Forged pistons?

Pistons later the port timing

Kit is pistons, patented billet head and stock base gasket.. You can reuse your stock base gasket several times and save a little $$ on the gasket costs.. We have reused them many time with success... those metal base gaskets work really well, wish everybody used them

Pistons are my own design and are a custom alloy forging (NOT WISECO)

None of ours will throw the DET light when bouncing off the rev limiter and we have bounced off it many time in tuning.. Not sure why yours is different than ours.

First off I'm sorry if I got anyone going in the wrong way. I simply see both kits as improvements for the 800 cfi motor (They are both supposed to fix the internal piston issue, but definitely in different ways which is why I made the post). I believe that the PMS kit claims increases as well, I would assume that your kit is producing substantially more with your full head set up though.

I also asked if one would be better for the turbo application. You mentioned that your kit not only makes more power, but cools better. This is the type of info I was looking for. To me better cooling would be a good thing to have in a turbo application when the stock cooling is less than stellar for some.

Kelsey, I really appreciate your feedback, and I wouldn't expect you to speak about the other kit. I appreciate the info you have provided though.

Now a few more questions for you. One had already been asked by milehighassasin. How does your kit affect port timing? Do you see any issues running your set up with a turbo? Is there any different pricing for the drop in kit with a turbo head? Also I'm wondering about your turbo head and what exactly it does, I couldn't find much info on it on your website but if you would like to touch on what the head does that would be great.

Again thanks for the responses. I really didn't intend to tick anyone off with this thread. I just saw two Different options to potentially fix a similar issue. Knowing they do it in different ways I wanted to see if one might be better suited because I surely don't know.

So I had wrote this at work and stepped away for a bit. Didn't see your response to the port timing so don't worry about that question! I guess I should check back after stepping away for a bit before posting!
