Ripped track repair? Anyone done it?

Ripped my Peak track last weekend. Don't know how it happened, but I only got 250-300miles on it, and it happened while riding hard on trails.

Anybody know if there is a way to save this track? Will drilling holes and bolting it together work? I know people with stretched sleds have connected two tracks, to one before, so should be a way?

Any tips is greatly recived.

Tall lug tracks and speed, rocks, etc,, equals that.
My boy shelled out a 156x16x2.5 Camo Extreme riding and spinning in low snow cond. wasn't buying another at that price.
He got a 156X2 Challenger as a replacement.:face-icon-small-hap

Thanks for the replies. Will try fixing it as soon as possible.
Im running a turbo by the way, so i guess that helps destroying it to.

Only problem is I need to find something, here in Norway that is equal to the E6000 glue you are talking about. Can't seem to find it here.

More problems

Had this happen to me this wknd. Caught a beaver chewed stump with the center lug on my CE 2.5. Ended up having to cut the whole center lug off and the fiberglass rods are torn away from the inside belt.

Going to try to fix with Gorilla Glue today and also put a couple small patches bolted over this spot.

Ran about 60 miles with the lug cut off so I know it will hold up either way.

Sunvang, don't know if you have access to 'gorilla glue'?

Sunvang,
Your most likely going to have to amputate the lug on the ripped part.
Then glue and use an old track stud or elevator bolts to hold the 'flappy part down. I would cut the affected lug off as to give the least amount of stress to this area.

Looks like the inner belt is intact so that is good...might be a little tricky to get the torn out fiberglass rod (with track clip) back in place and secure.

Use the E6000, Gorilla glue does not work well on rubber that is flexing.

To the OP,
Looks like you had a partial track stab...I don't see a rail cap, you must have an anti-stab kit?

Had a anti stab kit mounted. But I noticed that was broken, and missing some wheels at the same time i noticed the track beeing damaged.

Ordered a Challenger Extreme to try out. Decided not to repair it now, and have it on this sled. At 230hp I wont ever feel safe riding with this, repaired or not.
Will repair it later and run it on a stock sled instead.

I found E-6000 glue, so will use that when im doing the repair.
