Riding with broken Can Temp Sensor?

Trying to get a first seasons road ride in, however my Can Temp Sensor ripped out when my can fell to the ground. Any band aid for this? Or is it a big deal to do a road ride without it? Any input would be MUCH appreciated.

Thanks!

You could use a small tubing cutter like this .... https://www.amazon.com/TEKTON-64501...=1508374638&sr=8-1&keywords=brake+line+cutter

And carefully cut through the last 1/2" of the sensor to get to some wiring to be able to solder the wires back together.

If that doesnt work you can solder a 400 ohm resistor onto the wires, and then just put the broken sensor back in the can so you dont have an exhaust leak.

If you do nothing, you will get a check engine light, But I dont know enough about that system to know if its going to run in Limp mode or not.

Are all sensors replaceable with 400ohm resistor? This is for a 2016 Skidoo Summit

Most of these sensors test very similar. A resistor in the 400-500 ohm range puts thats in the middle of the temperature operating range.

77* = 220 ohms
482*= 385 ohms
752*= 488 ohms

Part came in, but it looks all wrong...... Anyone delt with this before? Hopefully I can just splice it in and all will be well...... THoughts?

Looks like they sent you the sensor for the pipe not the muffler

Its annoying because if you look at the skidoo parts online and go through the process the schematic shows that the part they sent me is correct....and its not. So now trying to get on the phone with someone at skidoo since dealers are worthless when it comes to help with this kind of thing.

Finally figured it out. With the different models/etc the part is somewhat hidden in the electrical wiring as a Dual Thermocouple Module. Lucky me, only $300 haha. All well lesson learned.
