Riding Whistler BC?

Were heading to Whistler (Creekside) tomorrow morning... Thinking of taking my sleds too. Always wanted too! Any advice on where to ride etc would be great! Where to get maps? boeder crossing problems?

FYI, We dont have big mountain machines, just 3 low mileage 1999 phazers 500's

Thanks!

the riding in whistler is truly epic, but without real mountain sleds you'll just be able to see the beginnings of what awaits further in. plus, this time of year with all storms being so frequent, visibility is terrible. the easiest place to ride is brandywine, and it has a nice groomed trail all the way to the backcountry. but you won't going past that. it gets steep and deep real fast. i can't speak to whether the new(er) brandywine lot is open yet, as it was taken over by the Olympics last season. hopefully its open now. 10 minutes before you hit creekside, Turn left up the Callahan road, then the first left again after a 1/2 mile. follow it all the way back. park, ride, and be merry! :)

you'll be spending $20k on new sleds before you know it!

Brandywine

The Brandywine lot is open. It cost $15 dollars a day per person to park. Brandywine trail is fully groomed now to the meadows which is about 6-7 mile ride in. Brandywine is fun and a great place. To access the ice cap you will need to go up and over through the S Chute. You will need a mountian sled and good visibility.

There is also the Rutherford groomed trail which is on the north side of Whistler. Probably the easy way to access the ice cap. Still early in the season and the crevasses are still a danger.

Have fun.
