I don't think it's the hot sticky thing going on because the other (twin sled) doesn't get hot and sticky. The new sled has a rolled chaincase and is 1/4" C-C shorter. Both sleds run the same belt and are clutched identical. The new sled acted fine in the powder and heavy snow but overshifts on this springtime snow. The old sled has spot on clutching no matter what conditions you run it in. I've leaned it out, lightened it up, new primary and secondary spring, I'm running on my shallow secondary setting but it still acts as if the belt is long resulting in a weaker backshift or the gears are lower resulting in a weaker backshift. I wanted to try one more thing but I don't think we can get to the snow anymore. I wanted to try go to a 160/260 secondary spring from my 140/260 but I think I've run out of snow. I'll keep that little experiment in mind for next spring, I think it'll work fine. When the new sled will hold 8,100 R's it will actually outpull the old one, at 7,800 I get left in the dust. I'm not sure these sleds are geared the same, I haven't taken a look there yet. Testing, Testing, Testing, It will annoy the hell out of me until it's perfect, then I can relax.
