Complete amateur second time out with the camera. It's a Canon 50D with a EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens. I took off the polarizer and opened up the aperture so I could shoot at 1/2000 shutter. They look a lot better this time than the first time out. Still learning...

It isn't looking good, Chad. I just checked the weather and they are calling for a 20% chance of snow tomorrow and mostly sunny for the next 5 days.

It was decent yesterday but it was set up and getting hard when we got back to the trucks. Last Saturday it was so hard you could have ridden a dirtbike anywhere, on the snow! I peeled a chunk of crust off the top and showed it to Mule, it was at least 4" thick! YUCK!!

On the positive side, that ice chunk did taste pretty good.

Great pics and nice camera. That rock looks familiar. Fresh didn't pan out? I thought the ski area claimed 16" monday night

Oh well, at least I'm buried waist deep in the snow up here, just no sled to ride....

They did. It was also very windy the night before. There were PLENTY of really big windblown drifts around but the overall coverage had blown into the trees.

:(:(

Did you get your sled into Carl's yet? Going for a BB kit?

Nice pics Duke. The guy that took the picture of you must be
one hell of a photographer!! Haha! Will you email me those pics?
I think I gave you my email address yesterday. Did you get the
pics I sent you? Missed out on a great ride in Pinedale, There are
some pretty big drops up there. I'll post pics sometime this weekend.

We found a treestand bolted to a tree, probably about 20' up if the hunter that left it sets his stands like I set mine. That dude jumping off of it sure can climb a hill!;);)

Nice to see you getting the good gear duke. The 40D would have been fine, not a lot of difference then the 50D and then you could spend more on lenses... that's where you will dump a lot of coin. As a general rule most lenses are as sharp as they are going to be 2 stops down from wide open so in you case I would put it on aperture priority and set it on f8 and let er rip. That should give you plenty of shutter speed in the daylight, as long as you get over 1/500th you s/b good. Here's a couple from last w/e...
