Riding near Aspen

I am heading west for the winter and will be staying with my cousin in Aspen for the month of January, then up to salt lake for feb and march. Just curious how far one has to drive to ride out of Aspen. Looking for everything except trail riding. I am also looking to find people to ride with. I ride a 13 summit 154.

Grand Mesa and The Flat Tops are a bit of a drive but worth it. The wilderness folks have shut down most riding near Aspen.

No they haven't

Backside of Aspen Mountain out Richmond Ridge to Taylor Park. Good riding. Head out of Town to the North and you can ride up in the Lenado area also. Further downvalley near Carbondale is some excellent riding from 4 Mile, to marion Gulch, to Electric Mountain Lodge area, but we just don't tell those people from Vail about it

Great to hear. Would love to spend less time in the truck. hopefully the snow will be good when I get out there the first week of January.
