Riding in the Northwest

My wife and I just moved from Boise up to the Coeur d'Alene, ID area and we are looking forward to a great winter up here! I'm trying to do some internet scouting on where we can ride our snowbikes. Obviously prime riding locations/terrain differ between sleds and bikes which brings me to my question-

Where is some good snow bike riding near me? (Within a couple hour drive.)

Also, we'd like to make an overnight trip or two this winter to explore more areas. Any ideas where we might be able to get some good riding with lodging nearby? (hotel, air b&b, lodge, etc.)

If you don't mind driving Revelstoke is pretty amazing, lots of nice dry, fluffy powder. The town is well set up for sledders/snowbikers. Plus you can enjoy the fact that the Canadian dollar is in the toilet making everything 30% off!! Golden is a little closer to you and also has lots of nice riding areas.

Revy is sick for sure but should be plenty of stuff closer. Beautiful area. Congrats on moving out of the rat race!

Thanks for the advise so far guys! We're planning on riding Priest Lake, we spent some time up there this summer - beautiful! We'd also be willing to venture into Canada, passports on its way.

There's got to be some more good stuff around, or is it too big of a secret...?!

Lots and lots of riding less than an hour from CDA. I live in Kingston, which is 30 miles east of there and never go more than an hour for incredible riding. That's the best part about the bikes - so many more areas to ride!! It's why I converted from sleds myself.

To name a few:

North of CDA - Priest Lake, Roman Nose, Trestle Creek

East of CDA - Canfield, 4th of July, Bloom Peak, Mullan, Taft

Once you get up here, just about any trailhead will lead to awesome riding. We have our favorites, but seem to stumble on new areas all the time. Half the fun is exploring places you have never been.

Have fun and be careful.
