All the information is good on the post.
I have stayed at most of them. The question is what do want in the stay trail, mountain? Well marked groomed trails with some off trail riding? hill climbing?
The travel time is big for me. but I have enjoyed all the Oregon destinations.
Halfway is a trip I take once a year. Diamond is great with well marked trails. Crescent has great homes (VRBO rentals) with some of the best quality homes to stay in. Sumpter has some of the best groomed trails and snow in Oregon. Tollgate is one that was left off the list. Lake of the woods trails can be tough to navigate for the newcomers. Elk Lake is crowded but lots of riding area. Paulina is good too. I have stayed there and yes they are rough but riding from the cabin is good. If you haven't rode Bend a trip to Paulina and Elk lake is fun.
If the snow is good everything is great.
