Riding in Bend?

I live in Klamath Falls thinking of going to Bend to ride for the first time next weekend. How is the snow there lately? Where are good places to ride? Any info would be appreciated

If you can, try to hook up with Oregonsledder or RickPDX. Both of these guys live in Bend and they know the area. Three of us came up there from Cali and if you like boondocking they would be the ones to hook up with. Super nice guys and a lot of fun! There is a lot of good places to go and you have to go to Elk Lake lodge for lunch or dinner at least once. Good food and company!

Pick up a map at Wanoga snopark, on the road to Mt Bachelor. Head up to Moon Mt. from there you can ride the trees to Three creeks snopark. Next day head out to Kwohl butte, sheridan shelter. If they get more snow, Paulina Lake may have enough. We were there yesterday for the drags, not ideal snow but enough. :face-icon-small-hap

Ok.......so where did you ride when you went there?
Sorry. Should have been more specific. We rode up at Mt. Bachelor. Staged at Winoga. Do get a map at the warming hut so you will know where to go. There is a few restricted areas and you need to know about them. We rode up on Tumalo mt. and to Moon mt. There is plenty of places to boondock also. If you are up there during the week you can also stage at dutchflats, closer to the riding areas.

I went to the races there yesterday. There is good coverage. I did not ride, just watched the races. If you don't know, turn off 97 at Sun River and follow that to the road to Bachelor. You will pass Edison SP on the left. When you get to the T turn right and the Wanoga SP is on the right. If you turn to the left at the T the Dutchman SP is up on the right. It is very small. I would suggest Wanoga the 1st time there. I can't help with the riding. I just know I made all the wrong turns finding the races. Jim

Diamond Lake is not to far fron there and they got snow last friday and I here they got dumped on last night so I would assume Bend area got some also. I am just guessing. Jim
