Riding around Kelowna?

I am looking to possibly relocate to Kelowna. Just wondering what the snowmobiling is like around that area? What the annual snow fall? etc. Any info would be great.

Thanks, Simon.

I live in kelowna and have sledded out of here for quite a few years. For the most part the type of sledding around here is pretty tame compared to Revelstoke or Hunters. Graystokes is the main riding area located about 30 minutes out of Kelowna (to the parking lot) and has many Kms of excellent scenic groomed trails, meadows and the Burn Area. The Burn is a 10 to 15 sq. Km knoll which is great for boondocking and gentle meadow riding. My personal favorite area to play. There's also the Idabel/McCulloch Lakes area which is groomed and maintained by the club. I don't know that area as well but I hear there are some excellent trails to cruise. Not really a whole lot for steep climbing if that's your thing. Moore Mountain does have a couple of challenges but again nothing like Revelstoke. Great View in every direction from the top of Jubilee Mountain too. There are 3 warming cabins as well as the main Chalet which are all maintained by the Kelowna Snowmobile Club.
Annual snowfall...I'm not 100% sure but the season really doesn't get good around here until Mid December to Christmas. You can usually get out on the trails a bit earlier but trailing arms can get expensive. Know that from personal experience. Season can go right into April.
There are other nearby areas around Kelowna which get just as much snow but the trails are not maintained.
Should you decide to come check it out, let me know I'd be happy to take you out for a day.:beer;

What's the riding in hunters and lumby like, I too am entertaining a job offer in kelowna and I want to make sure the sledding is gonna rock around there enough to offset all the hippies in town Hahah

The sledding rocks if you know where to go. Lumby is really good tree riding, along with a couple of good climbs. Greystokes is good to shake to cobwebs off early season, but after that there are better areas not much further away. I've done Hunter's quite a few times, it is good but gets beat down real fast.

I think you've mistaken Kelowna for Nelson. The only Hippie I know of in Kelowna is "Jedi Guy". The rest are homeless bums who re-locate here from Quebec for fruit picking season and BC Bud then don't know well enough to go home when the snow flies.
One hour to Enderby (Hunter's Range) and 1.5 hours to Sicamous.:beer;
