Riding around Grand Lake Colorado area

I was just wondering what kind of riding there is to do around the Grand Lake Colorado area. I am from Upper Michigan and went to Togotwee last year. Had lots of fun but way too expensive for this poor beer delivery guy. Was wondering if Grand Lake might be a little bit cheaper of an option, and if not, then are there any places in Colorado that may be. There might be some of the beer that I deliver in it for any local that can show me around a bit. Thanks!

I ride Grand Lake most of the time. It would help if you gave a bit more information:
Will you rent sleds, or bring your own?
If bringing your own, what will you be riding? (Mtn. or trail sled)
How many in your group, and skill level? (Been West much?)

I like GL quite a bit, but I have a cabin there which makes me biased. There's a ton of trails that are great earlier in the day on the weekend before the crowds come. Weekdays you could have the mountain to yourself, and there's a massive amount of backcountry places you can have a blast with. I've seen fantastic snow there, but like everywhere it's just how lucky you are when you're here. There's lots of inexpensive places to stay in town, but if you're coming with a group, renting a cabin is the best way to go; as many places you can ride right from the place (no trailering). GL is also one of the few places you can ride through town......fun gettting groceries or a drink after a day of riding right after you get back.

There will be 2-3 of us. I am a decent mountain rider. I can do all of the powder basics anyway. Sidehill, carve and climb pretty good. We will be bringing our won sleds.....1 assault. and two 146" xp's, all 800's.
