does anyone ride around ridgeway. i am looking at relocating from duluth mn to ridgeway co. would like to know a little about the area and how the riding is. thanks brandon

ridgeway is within a hour of the good riding- grand mesa has great snow-kinda flat. head to the san juans for the big hills. there is some riding around town there but not like these two places.

does anyone know if you can ride bridge to heaven and the other places around there? san juans have some good riding? i am sure it can't be worse out there than in minne-no-snowta.

anyone that can live in rideway or ouray is blessed.
do you like to hunt, the deer and elk are everywhere......

its a secret paradise for cold weather lovers, sits on the hwy corridor to silverton, molas, teluride mancos etc.

If you can make the move to Ridgeway then you should for SURE.

I don't know about the riding around there but I've been in the area a bunch in the summertime and it's always been amazing. Like the old west in a way.

Its actually spelled Ridgway. I am sure you will find incredibly high real estate prices there. It is close to telluride, which is now more expensive than aspen. If you can afford it, it is a very nice area. Montrose is just down the road and probably much more affordable.

my aunt own a small duplex there and is renting it to me for a reasonable price. i have been there once in the summer but i was only 10 or 11 yrs old so i don't remember much about it.

Sounds like you have a good opportunity. If you are willing to commute to telluride, you can probably make some good money. I am sure Ridgway has changed a lot since you saw it last. Ridgway is in the San Juan mountains, which tend to get a lot of snow. I looked at www.coloradodirectory.com and it looks like there is a trail that leaves from town. There are other snowmobile areas near montrose, cimmeron and silverton, which are all close to ridgway. One more piece of advice: buy an avalanche tranceiver, you dont need one in MN, but you will want one in Colorado.

Good luck! I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little jealous.

Will be starting a 3yr project in Telluride this summer maybe we can hook up and explore the area together. Allways looking for new places and people to ride with.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you will be about a half hour from red mountain pass which is one of the craziest mountian passes in colorado and also home to some of the best riding in colorado. Silverton is on the other side of the pass which is a sweet little town with good riding and a rad ski resort and just down the road is Durango which is also a very nice town. Very Jealous :beer;

Also there is a really good hot springs place in ridgway. Voted one of the best in Colorado.

actually i believe the hot springs is in ouray. been there, very nice. always looking for someone to ride with.

Just rode Red Mountain pass yesterday for the first time. Pretty cool riding up there. Anyone spent time in Silverton? Seems like it could be a cool place to ride out of.

everyone is right on about the ridgway area ive lived here for 23 years and its awesome the riding is amazing around silverton and grand mesa
