Rider X (PIDD) downloads

Just purchased a PIDD for my 2016 AXYS and after the install, went to download the trail maps from the Rider X and there are no sub folders to transfer to the sled. Looking for someone who has done it and how you made it happen. Thanks. Calvin

If I recall correctly, you download them as a zip file/folder. You must unzip that folder and then copy-paste those files or folder on to the flash drive to be uploaded to your sled. I believe this is covered in PIDD owners manual.

I ran into this same problem when I did my 2016 last season- there is a bunch of information on here that explains the teething process -then it will become second nature..
Take all the folders and pull them into your Stick- download them into your PIDD ..It works- just a bit confusing-cause there is nothing really that is a sub folder... If I remember right there are 4 folders in the new download....
It would be nice if this was a true GPS following all routes and trails instead of what is programmed in the Rider X program as I go way off the map several times .. but always get me back to the warming hut or pickup...

I agree but can also understand why it isn't able to. It would be tough to figure out routes when off trail. Sometimes trees are just too dense to go make it through plus the issue of avalanche danger. Would be nice to have some topography or slope heat maps as well.

Man that is a great idea! Slope degrees by color. I'm gonna drop em a note to plant a seed. You all should do the same. Nuff chirping birds might give em a good reason to research and include on next software update. Or a database u can buy. Kinda like the hunt database in rhino radios.

I have been down that road all last year/ offered suggestions and told that this is a pretty basic system- it woks great don't get me wrong, but very basic.
Hard to upload into maps like Garmin base camp to see where you went on that trip- Not very user friendly off the sled and into the computer unless someone has got a better route to upload the trip from the previous day ride to see where you went on a topo/google earth ect.ect..
BUT.. It has gotten us home in a complete whiteout, where seeing past your ski's was a challenge:face-icon-small-sad
