Rider forward on RX1 Alpine Turbo

i had to move the tank back, then cut the tank cowl around the gas tank neck, then make special bolts on the stop on the top of the tank, all worth the work though, i would say it is just as good as a apex
i have an 03 with forward steering, mountain performance tunnel, m7 skid with updates, cpr 290 hp turbo, alpine air filter kit, alpine gauge mounts, innovative afr gauge , boss highrise seat for Apex without rear exhaust, dumped exhaust out the bottom of the tunnel

let me know if you need help or need bolts made for the tank

no pics, maybe ill take some pictures for you today, i had to move the tank back about3/4 inch. talk to wildchild on snowest, h helped me through the install

RX1 tank

Change gas tank to stock one that has been cut and steering will fit plus more fuel.

With the aftermarket tanks if there plastic you can heat the tank up were the arm swings. Then push the tank in a bit and cool with water. Some guys on the alum tanks have just peened in the spot were the bottom arm swings for clearance. You can also slide the tank back some if you only need 1/4" of clearance.

Dave,who cuts the stock tank or should I do it ( you ought to see me on the business end of a sawzall ).

I moved my tank back , just like stated above , and riveted in a small galvanized piece of steel between the tie rod and the tank ( and put a little grease on it )to be sure there is no rubbing .

i beleave they get them done from a guy in salmon arm cant remember the name though dave or alpine would know .mine is a stock tank cut still a tight fit.

Vector, where did you get the billet bushing ? Wouldn't brass be better ? Probably need some hi temp grease or graphite lube too.

mr wildchild that posted just above me.they are very nice & tighten up the steering a ton they have a derilin bushing in the middle & are greasable super trick looking too.

Small problem to fix!!!!

But here is something to ponder-:rolleyes:

Front mount = light

rear mount = heavier

SC = real heavy

So if weight is a consideration take your pick , there are other things to consider but no one seems to look at the weight factor on the different forced induction systems.
