I am riding in Togwotee in March. My first time riding out west. Any thoughts on riding a Crossfire 800 with a 2" track, 136" length?

I rode with some buddies a couple week back, they brought two cross 8's and a cross 1000. all 136x2 tracks. They did great with around 2 feet of fresh with 6in hard base and 10in of suger under that. Keep moving and you'll be fine, they stayed close to the trail so when they HAD to take a break, they had a take off point. You will get stuck so bring a shovel and some friends. :D

You'll do fine and have a blast. The snow might be set-up some and that will help. You will get stuck so like it was said above, "bring a shovel". Beware it could be addicting and cost you a lot of $

Agreed on the addicting part, it only takes one time!!!:D

When I started really riding in 99/00 a 136 was a long track(99 rmk 600 136/1.75 paddle).
Keep your speed up only stop on packed out snow on the flats or facing downhill and you'll do fine.Bring your shovel and a Snowbunjie. Also money for :beer;:beer;:beer; for your friends who will help you out.
Pete

You will do just fine, I ride a crossfire 800 with a 141" powerclaw 2.25" and get around very well and there are also a few others on this site that have the same setup.
