Thinkin of going to Revelstoke for the first time. But I have been hearing alot of talk about theft. The Rep at the show even admited its been a big problem in years past. ???

10 times plus

I have been personally ten times plus. Never a problem but I have hear stories. I suggest Peaks lodge or Glacier house. Peaks has new owner's and they are great and good location with secure/fenced parking for sleds overnight. If you have an enclsoed trailer that's a plus, but I hear last year some guys parked at Blue Lake in sicamous on the way to Revelstoke and some punks axed through the side of the trailer and stole quite a bit of stuff? Just be careful and take extra precautions and you should be fine. Check with insurance before going to make sure you and your Shiznit are covered in Canada before going. good luck.

Ya,,, tie a big azz dog to your stuff with w 75 ' chain and leter EAT!!!!!

Four Trips last winter with no issues, except a blown motor, 2 tracks and a expensive Heli ride, but fordy paid for that....LMAO....but just like anyplace if your going to get jacked there is no chain thats going to stop them so just go and dont worry about it....dont leave anything in the truck you cant live without....you can buy more with your insurance money....

A couple guys I know went up last year, came back to broken windows in trucks and canopys. One guy wasn't very smart and left his wallet and such, it was gone. They pretty much took anything that had any monetary value.

So, If you can't afford to lose it, don't leave it, And make sure your insurance is current.

Agreed, Gold Creek is a problem.
Which is a little surprising to me considering how often I see Forest Service and Kittco county rigs there.

Property owners that live up Ski Tour Valley used to have a lot of break-ins as well. The community pitched in to buy a camera and a sign, which apparently has worked to cut down on incidents.

Sorry for the thread drift.

Dude,

Who's to say it's not the Forest Service thats stealing from us! We all know the wages they make......:eek:

Im just sayin...:D:D;)

It was a problem before for sure and like anywhere, anything can happen. A theft ring was at work in the area and those people were caught. Like Graveler said, just go and don't worry about it but don't "be a target" either...LOL !!!! Now come rip it up in Revy !:D

Thanks for everyones thoughts. Someone mentioned McCall, wich we were also thinking about. Have not been to either, just Priest Lake and Paulina Lakes in Oregon. No stories or warnings of theft at these places.
