Revy avalanche

I was involved in the avy at turbo today. i made it to the trees in time and didnt get burried. i must say it looked like a war zone with parts and pieces of sleds and helmets everywhere. i left the avy scene at around.6:30 and i had herd of 3 confirmed death and many injuries. i must say that this is the most horrific thing i have even seen in my life. Its nice to know that a bunch of stangers can work well as a unit when needed. there was plenty of line searches performed with probes. many people were asking complete stangers for double rides down because there sleds were burried. sorry for the poor grammar just wanted to give you guys a quick update. im still in shock and the avy coming down and covering all the people and sleds is played in my mind every five minutes. i send my condolences to the families that lost there love one. this is a tragic and eye opening event.

What kind of weather was there? Was it fresh snow and snowing?
Help everyone to understand what it was like up there?

To whom made the post about a sled parked on your hood...please explain the post about having a sled parked on top of your hood? You mean that much snow fell today or it was buried from Avy?

The BC avy center had posted that there is EXTREME avy danger and said to stay off all hills. Lots of fresh snow on top of ice.

We are riding in new Denver and were going to go to bis but changed our minds at the last minute. It has been snowing hard for three days. We are in hip deep snow here and I imagine revy is the same. Warnings have been extreme and warnings of possible large fast slabs have been frequent.

it still doesnt seem real, me and my 2 buddies had just pulled into turbo and we looking for a group that we were going to meet up with. i heard some screams and saw some avy bags being deployed, i turned around and saw a cloud of snow dust, i pinned it for a goup of trees, just made it out of the slide path by about 10 ft, a guy behind me got caught in the slide and i think the sled rolled over him, he got out tho, 20 ft away a guy got his neck broke. i cant even explain what it was like, it was sickening. i'm still shaking.

i wish this all was a dream, sadly its not. i know my sledding season is done.

guys take it from me if you are ready willing and able, get up there and keep searching! dont leave anyone up there! do what you gotta do get up there and get them out! its even worse if you wait! group up and search!

Thr rcmp has cleared the hill off until daybreak. You cannot go search if you wanted to.

That is very sobering.
My wife and I both read that together.
VERY sad.

this is gonna be a long night for all of us....I don't even want to think of how long it is going to be for those that are there, were there or had people there.
