Revalving for 2010 M8 Shocks

I'm not sire if I'm the only one having problems with the search feature but I couldn't find the info I was looking for in regards to revalving.

I picked up a 2010 M8 SP last year and hear great things about the Burandt shock upgrade. I'm tired of getting beat up on the trail. Most of my riding is done in high elevation powder. A few questions:

1. Does the upgrade just effect the front floats?
2. Who in or near CO can perform this mod?
3. What exactly is being changed?
4. What is the average cost?
5. Do I need to know the specs of the revalve or would a specialist know what a "Burandt upgrade" is?

I'm new to the Arctic Cat world so thank you in advance.

fox shox upgrade

I have a 09 M8 SP, I sent my shocks in to FOX and had them do the Chris Burant upgrade to both shocks in the read suspension. Sled rides a lot better now in the rough stuff compared to stock. I sent mine straight to Fox in california. Look on their web site Foxshox. The turn around time was just several days bench time, really fast. The cost was about 300 if I remember right. Hope this helps you out. Rickm

Shock re-valve

I will start by saying that I don't know much about shocks. I have a 2010 M-8 and had the Burandt upgrade done.
It came with high flow pistons, O rings and some other rubber parts. The installation calls for different valving, which is supplied by the installer. I had a friend install them and he supplied them. The kit cost me $199. The kit was only for the two shocks in the rear suspension.

I never rode the sled stock, so I don't know how much better it is, but it is still pretty rough on the bad trails. I like the way the sled transfers weight and how it gets up on top the snow. I also like the way it feels when I take a large jump or take a fairly big hit.

I have my front shock set at about 1/2" preload and the rear shock set at 132 to 134lbs. mine is not a sno-pro.
The recommendation came from Chris Burandt when I set up a ride with him for later in the winter. I know some of it may be about money, but he was convinced that the deep snow performance alone was worth it and that it should be one of your first mods. He said it made a big difference.

Good luck
