Hey guys need some help. My cousin's 04 rev keeps flooding out after he shuts it off and comes back to start it. He still has the coolant lines running to the carbs. I am thinking we should take these off. Other than that I am thinking new needle's in the floats. Any suggestions would be helpful thanks.

fuel pump leaking throught to the crank? Choke or enricheners bypassing? Dpm sticking? Hoses on the carbs damaged?

Is it an 800 or a 600? The coolant lines are for carb heaters -- they can be turned off (little red tab on the line) -- so no need to disconnect them.

I would check the choke cables and make sure they are not sticking. Sometimes it can get gummed up in there. Or if you added risers/moved the cables, it may be pulling the choke.

Does the sled run great other than being flooded after killing it?

It is a 800. Yes the fuel lines look good and the lines to the dpm look good. It does run great other wise. One thing it does start to load up if you sit and idle to long. I am going through the carbs now and will check the fuel pump. Just want to know what else to look for while I am at it?

If it only happens at idle, it's probably that your idle screw adjustment on the carb either needs to be adjusted, or just needs to be cleaned out. If dirt/grime get in there, it won't work properly. I'd guess that a thorough cleaning of the carbs will take care of business. If it runs well otherwise I wouldn't worry about the fuel pump.

I have a 2004 600 summit and it does the exact same thing... starts the day with one or two pulls, runs great when it is, but stop for 10 mins and you'll pull your brains out trying to start it again. It eventually starts. Seems maybe like its losing its prime to the carbs or flooding out. Anyone thing a primer would help or is it likey flooding out?

Just a thought.........All of my carb sleds have to have the throttle held open to start, when the engine is warm.

I had similar issues with my 05 800. Removed the coolent lines and it helped alot. I would think going through the carbs and deleting the coolent line should make it run great. I Think the carbs get to warm with the coolent heating line that runs through they flood themselves out. Before I deleted the coolent lines, I had to hold it wide open and pull 20-30 times before it would even fire after shutdown. Take plugs out, dry them off. Put new ones in, Really got annoying. Goodluck with the project
