Always have to have my son helping me...he is 14 now and anxious to learn more about things. Here he is helping me get the framing and metal work done. We are making the bottom section with old rough sawn cedar and galvanize roofing, above that will be 1x12 old barn siding on inside.

Some updates on the BARn... I added about a bazillion yards of dirt to the back or at least it felt like it and got a road built up to it last summer. Plus got all the outside done and painted in the darker original color as most voted for. I was really glad went to that. Also have the bath near done and the upstairs getting the poly on the floor. Had to take a break in add on to the house but now back on this project...Just thought i would throw some new pics up.

FRICKEN COOL!!!!!

BTW, is that knife a K-bar? My dad has an old original K-bar that looks really similar to the one in the picture.
if the guard between the handle and blade were larger, it would be almost certain to be a K-bar.

That pond looks like a good water skipp'n pond.

haha...Oh it is and had to pull some sleds out of it SEVERAL times. Once yardfarmers sled spent the night on the bottom! had a heck of a time finding it the next day in 11 foot deep water.

Had to pull this Exploder out of the shallow end as the owner THOUGHT he could make the 100 yards across....I lost two chains that night before knocking on the neighbors door at 3 a.m. to get cable. He was NOT a happy dude. (either of them)

Ha Ha. Why don't you tell the recovery story of the sled with the extension cords.

Its nice to see people restore these. So many of them just get pushed in a hole. there is a lot of character in these.

Way cool. When I was a kid I helped my aunt and uncle clean up and fix up an old barn into a repair shop. The people that lived their before had raised sheep for years and never cleaned the manure out. The mix of hay and manure was 4' thick and had been sitting like that for about 20 years. The pen was about 15' x 40' and there were only small doors, so no access for a skid loader. We had to use a chainsaw to cut it into squares and shovel and pitchfork it into the spreader.
