Yes you will need a 100 watt resistor. I have one on my 06 M7 chassis. My wifes 05 M7 doesn't have one and I've ran it many times without the hood without incident, but my dealer tells me I've just been lucky. Some can run without the power draw and then the next one will eat the ecu. It's not worth the risk so I've installed them on both, $100.00 is cheap compared to a new ecu for at least a grand.
do you know anyone on snowest that might have one?
where in the harness do you put the resistor? i would like to take my headlights and gauges out too. same sled 06 m7
I have a 2007 M 1000 do I need a resistor?
Thanks
From what I understand 07 and newer do not need a resistor. I don't run headlights, tail lights, or hand warmers and have had zero problems.I have a 2007 M 1000 do I need a resistor?
