resister with slp single pipe?

so i bought a used slp single off an 08 d8 and put it on my 09 d8. the guy gave me a resister he said i was suppose to put inline of the egt probe. i looked and it will plug right in but... is this necessary? what is the purpose? benefits?

you do not need the resistor on your 09 800 it is only for the 08 800 models

dont need it with 2010 update on any of them..

its not needed on the 08's either...the resistor richens the fuel by 5%...

thanks, that's what i was looking for. yeah, definitely to not want these sled any richer than they already are. guess it will just go into my "extra" box. thanks again.

I asked Jim at slp a month ago.he said its not needed..they sell the single for the 10's now and its not included with the kit either...

I had talked with Dustin at SLP as well about a month and a half ago. I asked him about the resistor on my 08 as mine has been installed with my pipe since Jan of 08. He said they have been telling everybody since last year they are no longer needed on any of them.
