Replacing IQ Tunnel extension with vanenburg

The stock extension used "bull rivets". Can I get some input on whether I should use bolts/nuts or rivets as well as what kind and where I should get them??? Thanks for any help or advice on this.

Mike sells a small kit with the correct length blind rivet and tool. All you need is an air hammer and block to install them. They look the best, clean!
If it's your first time hammering blind rivets practice a little before working on your sled. It takes a couple to get the feel for it but once you got it you can go all day without an issue.
I attached a pic of one that I did.

Bolts work in a pinch, but from my experience you are wanting to use very short bolts which are then threaded all the way up to the head. If you could find some bolts that were not threaded that far, they would hold the shear of any movement better as the threads typically cut into the aluminum, plus they are just a slight amount smaller in diameter than the bolt & hole diameter. This difference allows for slop over time and allows things to move. The rivets will typically get expanded to fill the voids and creates a tighter joint over time. Plus the rivet can have a smoother protrusion on either side, where the bolt may have some corners or sharp edges that can create issues.

I used 1/4" stainless allen button head bolts with nylock uts when I put the vanamburg extension on my IQ dragon. They work really good and look good too.

I don't know what's up with that. He used to put together a collection of rivets and the tool for installation. He made it sound like it was something he sold all the time a couple years back.
I've never used that fastener before. If you don't want to use the blind rivets i would just go with the small button head SS bolts with nylocs. Just get the propper length so you don't have extra threads hanging out and remember that SS fasteners are known to seize up with nylocs so use either a dry lube or anti seize on the threads when installing.
Good luck.
